In the PillerseeTal valley, you can intensively experience and enjoy nature while hiking on many groomed winter hiking trails. Watch the hares and deer before they disappear into the thickets of snow-covered forests. The location of our chalet in the PillerseeTal valley enables you to start off directly from the front door of our establishment.
Snow shoe hiking
Snow shoe hiking is a trendy sport which is finding an increasing number of fans. No prior skills are necessary, but you should have a certain level of fitness. Enjoy the crystal-clear mountain air and the alpine scenery with every step! Guided snow shoe tours can also be booked.
Ski tours
Absolute tranquillity on the mountain and meditative ascents to the peak is the recipe for finding inner equilibrium. The PillerseeTal has wonderful routes for ski mountaineers which, depending on your ability, either lead through the local natural environment and mountain world or run parallel to the ski slopes.
Tobogganing
Racing down into the valley on runners promises great family fun! The PillerseeTal provides toboggan fun on four runs which are also romantically illuminated in the evening hours. The snowtubing run in Waidring at the Gasthof Strub Restaurant & Guest House is perfect for all those who love exhilaration and speed.
Ice skating & ice stock sport
Whether ice skating or playing ice stock sport, both these activities are terrific fun in a convivial group! You can pirouette on the natural ice rink in the town centre of St. Ulrich and there are several ice stock rinks in the region.
Riding & horse-drawn sleigh trips
Horse fans will also get their money’s worth here! At the near-by Hotel Strasserwirt, you can also book winter riding lessons and rides. Romantics can experience the magical winter landscape during a horse-drawn sleigh trip, irrespective of whether you undertake this as a couple, with friends or with your family.
